Each type of crane has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, each line of crane has common points and operating principles that we must know and pay attention to when using or operating. Firstly, when it comes to mobile cranes, we need to understand what a mobile crane is.
Definition
A mobile crane is a type of crane that uses rubber-tired wheels. With its unique advantages, it makes the crane easily moveable, flexible and fast. These devices are commonly used in construction industries.
The construction of a mobile crane
A mobile crane consists of the following main components:
- Hook used for hoisting and holding objects
- Cable with lifting function
- Hoisting system
- Outriggers
- Slewing device
- Cab
How the tire crane operates that you need to know:
- When lifting a heavy load, the crane’s outrigger legs are firmly placed on the ground. The crane hooks the object, and the hydraulic cylinder operates on the principle of a cable crane.
- The drive unit located on the rotating part of the tire is responsible for driving other movements such as lifting and lowering the load, extending and retracting the hydraulic cylinder, and rotating the boom to position the load where it is needed.
- Once the load is lifted high, the length of the boom needs to be changed to assemble intermediate sections.
Advantages:
The tire crane can easily lift heavy loads, with a large working space and a maximum lifting height of 55 meters, with a reach of 38 meters.
Particularly, the tire crane can move easily on construction sites and is flexible in movement.
Additionally, the tire crane has the disadvantage of having a more complex wheel structure compared to a cable crane in hilly areas.
Currently on the market, there are many types of tire cranes such as Kato, Kobelco, Todano, … U-MAC Vietnam has over 10 years of experience in supplying and renting various new and used cranes nationwide and is the official agent of many crane brands.
