Tsurumi is a reputable brand of industrial drainage pumps from Japan. Established in 1924, it has nearly 100 years of experience in manufacturing and supplying a wide range of pump models and types to the market.
Performance Curves

The KTV series belongs to the category of mobile three-phase submersible drainage pumps. Although it is a three-phase device, the pump is designed to be lightweight for easy transportation, while still being suitable for pumping liquids in regular construction and foundation works.
It features a top discharge and side flow design, ensuring effective motor cooling even when the motor is exposed to air. The slim design allows the pump to be placed in confined spaces.

A shipping barge began to sink until it was almost 95% submerged. The barge owner contracted a local pump company to pump the barge empty. After 6 weeks of pumping the barge was not only still submerged but had also managed to be completely turned upside down. After considerable time and expense, the owner contacted a local Tsurumi Pump Distributor located in Oakland. Six 15kW (20Hp) model KRS-815 pumps with suction adaptor were mounted to the barge access hatches. It took eight hours to raise the barge completely. After the barge had been raised, customer used six 3.7kW (5Hp) model KTV2-37 pumps; one each of the six barge compartments for final drainage. Utilizing the Tsurumi pump design: the customer ‘s cost was 1/3 of what he had previously spent, trying to raise the barge.

The project was to elongate the U2 line to the north-east of Vienna. There is was a working area called “Tunnel U2/2” that was said to be the Europe’s biggest ground water lowering project. The tunnel, with a length of 1500m, would be situated in sandy and silty clays, and had to pass underneath 97 buildings. It was located between the river Danube and the Donau Canal, and the contractor had to solve ground water problem. Tsurumi pumps were used because of their reliability ensuring drainage in 24-hour snore mode during the heading works. The Tsurumi pumps have left a footprint here at the city of classical music, too.
